Volume Zone — Legal Information

This Privacy Policy explains how the Volume Zone mobile application ("the App") handles information. The App is published by VeloSec ("we", "us", "our"), and this policy is provided in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on our servers. The App has no accounts, no sign-in, and no server component operated by us. Everything the App records stays on your device.

2. Location Data

The App uses your device's location services to detect when you enter or leave a zone you have created, so that it can adjust your volume automatically. Specifically:

• Your location is evaluated on your device, by iOS Core Location's region monitoring;
• Your location is never transmitted to us, and we have no ability to see where you are or have been;
• Your location history is never recorded or logged beyond what is needed to trigger a zone;
• Background location access ("Always Allow") is required, because the App must be able to detect zone entry and exit while it is not open.

You can revoke location access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Volume Zone. Without it, the App cannot trigger zone changes automatically.

3. Maps and Address Search

When you place a zone on the map, the App displays maps using Apple's MapKit framework, and address searches are handled by the same framework on your device. These are Apple services, and your use of them is subject to Apple's privacy policy. We do not operate them, and we do not receive your map interactions or search queries.

4. Data Stored on Your Device

Your zone configurations — names, coordinates, radius, volume level, and notification tone — are stored locally in your device's standard app storage (UserDefaults). Your default media volume is saved when you enter a zone so that it can be restored when you leave, and is cleared once restored. This data is not accessible to us or to any third party. Uninstalling the App removes it.

5. Purchases

The Pro unlock is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or have access to your payment details. Your purchase status is stored locally on your device to unlock features.

6. Analytics and Tracking

The App contains no analytics, tracking, advertising, or crash-reporting frameworks. We do not measure or record how you use the App.

7. Third-Party Services

The App uses only Apple's own on-device frameworks:

• Core Location — geofence monitoring;
• MapKit — map display, address search, and zone selection;
• StoreKit — in-app purchase processing;
• User Notifications — the alert shown when a zone changes.

Each of these is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

9. Your Rights

Under the Privacy Act you have the right to access and seek correction of personal information we hold about you. Because the App stores its data only on your device and sends us nothing, we hold no personal information about you to access, correct, or delete. You remain in control of the data on your device at all times.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will appear on this page with a revised date above.

These terms apply to your use of the Volume Zone application. By installing or using the App, you agree to them.

1. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, in accordance with the terms of the store you obtained it from. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or redistribute the App except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by law.

2. How the App Works

Volume Zone changes your media volume in response to geofence events reported by iOS. It does not continuously track your position, and it can only act when the operating system tells it that you have crossed a zone boundary.

3. Reliability

Geofence detection is provided by your device and is affected by factors outside our control, including GPS accuracy, network availability, Low Power Mode and background-refresh settings, the permissions you have granted, and how iOS schedules background work. Zone changes may therefore be delayed, or may not trigger at all.

You should not rely on the App in any situation where a missed or unexpected volume change would have serious consequences — for example, to guarantee that your phone will be audible for an emergency call, or that it will stay quiet in a setting where sound is prohibited. Please verify your device's volume yourself when it matters.

4. Purchases

The Pro unlock is sold through the App Store as a one-time purchase. Billing and refunds are handled by Apple under its own terms, and we cannot process refunds directly.

5. Consumer Guarantees and Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee is limited to resupplying the App or paying the cost of resupply, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the App.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, its name, and its artwork are the property of VeloSec or its licensors, and are not transferred to you by this licence.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the courts of Brisbane, Queensland have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising under them.
